Burnout. Overwhelm. That “Groundhog Day” feeling where every day looks the same. If you’ve ever found yourself wondering, “Is this really it?”—you’re not alone. In this episode of The Dream Biz Podcast, I’m joined by Josie Anderson, a soul purpose coach and the author of Awakened to the Divine Self, a guided journal that helps women reconnect with their inner wisdom and live with intention. We dive into six powerful steps Josie uses to help women create more time, mental clarity, and purpose—without hustling harder or adding more to their plate.
From Burned Out to Awakened
Josie’s journey started like many of ours—working full-time, juggling family responsibilities, and losing herself in the chaos. The smallest things would trigger her, leaving her overwhelmed and disconnected from the person she knew herself to be.
A pivotal shift came when she discovered soul purpose coaching. Through journaling, meditation, and deep inner work, Josie found clarity, joy, and purpose—and made it her mission to help other women do the same.
The 6 Steps to More Time, Clarity, and Purpose
These six steps are the core of Josie’s coaching framework and journal. Whether you’re running a business or managing a busy life, these tools can help you reset and reclaim your time and energy.
1. Delegate with Intention
Most of us know we should delegate—but we don’t. Why?
Josie and I discussed the deeper beliefs that often hold us back:
- “It’s easier to do it myself.”
- “No one will do it like I do.”
- “I don’t even know what to delegate.”
Here’s the truth: Delegating isn’t just a productivity hack—it’s an act of self-care. Start by writing down everything you do in a day. Highlight what drains you, and look for tasks you can outsource—even if they feel “small.” Those minutes add up.
✨ Pro Tip: Don’t aim for perfect. Aim for sustainable.
2. Let Go (Emotionally and Physically
Letting go isn’t just about clutter—though that can help too. It’s about releasing the mental load of perfectionism and control.
Josie shared how perfectionism is often rooted in fear—fear of failing, of being judged, of disappointing others. But when we loosen our grip, we create space for creativity, ease, and growth.
Ask yourself: What if this didn’t have to be perfect? What if I could learn through doing instead of over-preparing?
3. Practice Mindfulness (Your Way)
Mindfulness isn’t just meditation. It could be journaling, walking, breathwork, or even creative practices like drawing.
Josie and I both find that some of our best ideas come when we’re doing something repetitive or calming—like showering, driving, or mindfully doodling.
Mindfulness is any moment that brings you back to yourself and helps quiet the noise.
4. Set Boundaries (and Keep Them)
If you’re a people-pleaser or high achiever, boundaries can feel impossible. But as Josie shared, learning to say no (even to your boss or your clients) is key to preventing burnout.
And boundaries aren’t just about others—they’re also about yourself.
What are you saying “yes” to that doesn’t align with the business or life you actually want?
When you protect your time, you protect your purpose.
5. Invest in Yourself
Investing in yourself doesn’t always mean signing up for another course. Sometimes, it means doing more of what lights you up—drawing, writing, dancing, creating.
It can also mean sharing your story or your gifts, even when it feels messy or unpolished. That’s where connection lives.
Investing in yourself = doing more of what fuels your joy and creativity.
6. Ask for Support
The final (and maybe most important) step is getting support. Whether it’s a therapist, a coach, a friend, or a community—don’t go through burnout or overwhelm alone.
There are so many people and spaces—free and paid—that want to see you thrive. Go find your people. They’re out there.
What Happens When You Do the Work?
Josie says it best: when you commit to these steps, abundance follows. Not just financially—but emotionally, energetically, and creatively.
Clients she’s worked with have:
- Reduced their work hours
- Found time to start passion projects
- Reclaimed joy and presence with their families
- Built businesses aligned with who they really are
This work is about breaking free from burnout and designing a life that supports your purpose.
