Eeeek! I am SO excited about this blog post today! A lot has happened since my last post, namely, that I’m MARRIED! Matt and I tied the knot on 7.17.17 and we couldn’t be happier! But more on that later, because this post isn’t about me! This post is about Sam & Susie who were married on July 15! I met Susie at her sister’s wedding that I photographed last year (you can find Becky & Patrick’s post here). I absolutely loved getting to work with her family again and have to admit that I’m pretty sad there aren’t anymore Heiser sisters for me to photograph!
My favorite thing about Susie is her SMILE. Her joy is contagious! She lights up any room with her fun personality and sweet smile! One thing we kept laughing about all day were her stunning flowers. Susie is tiny! And her bouquet was massive! Every flower and succulent was perfectly placed and GORGEOUS. I loved photographing it! Especially the candid moments where she’s trying to figure out how to carry it (not included in this blog, sorry!).
Like her sister, Susie decided to have a morning wedding and do all of the couple portraits after the wedding! I love this idea! It still gives the couple the chance to experience their first look as the bride walks down the aisle, but it also allows us the flexibility to not try to fit in all of the portraits between the ceremony and reception! One thing we didn’t anticipate though was that after the ceremony there was a storm approaching! We hustled through our photos and finished them in about 20 minutes! Once I got 5 minutes down the road after our session it started pouring! You wouldn’t know from the images that we were working like crazy to get in all of the shots! Sam and Susie were so much fun to photograph because not only are they a GORGEOUS couple, but they were so much FUN to photograph!
Their personalities came through in little fun touches throughout the day! Their guestbook was a bench with their initial on it, instead of champagne they opted for cream soda in honor of their first date, and they had a confetti exit (don’t worry, it was biodegradable)! The sweetest touch of all was that the buttons on the back of Susie’s dress were handmade by her great grandmother for her grandmother’s wedding! I am so excited for them to see this blog post, and to share it with all of you! Congratulations Sam & Susie!
A huge thank you to my second shooter, Sarah Marko!
