When Diana first contacted me about shooting her small & intimate wedding at Pretty Place Chapel, I was immediately elated. Pretty Place is one of the most beautiful places for weddings in the southeast! The chapel is on the blue ridge parkway and offers an incredible mountain view from the chapel. It truly is stunning! Chris & Diana chose this location not only because of its beauty, but because Chris’s parents were actually married there as well! I know it was so special for them to witness their son marry the love of his life at the same place they said their vows!

Although Chris’s parents are from Pickens, Chris, Diana, and Diana’s family drove all the way from Virginia! As the date grew nearer, the chance of rain & storms grew stronger. They came all that way to be greeted by rain! But they didn’t let that stop them from having a great time with their friends and family!! And thankfully, the rain held out long enough for us to capture some beautiful couple portraits!! The chapel was the perfect shelter for the rainy weather, and the view was still spectacular.

Since Chris & Diana are from Virginia, the first time I met them was right before the ceremony when we took their portraits! I absolutely loved meeting them and spending a little bit of time with them. They were such a joy, and they are so in love!! They love spending time outdoors hiking and going on adventures. The mountains of the Carolinas were the perfect setting for them to tie the knot.

Diana sent me an e-mail a few days before the ceremony and said, “as the date gets closer, the more I think the words ‘relaxed’ and ‘joyful’ will describe our day.” Relaxed and joyful are the perfect words to describe the time I spent with them. After we captured their portraits, we grabbed a few family shots and then started the ceremony! I loved seeing their families celebrate with them. Seeing the two of them tear up during their vows was the highlight for me. No matter how many weddings I shoot, I never take lightly the fact that I get to share in the most important day of a couple’s life. Chris & Diana, I wish you all the happiness in the world!!
