Feature one: the layout feature

Flodesk’s layout feature is what makes their emails so beautiful. You can utilize the layouts through templates where you can easily drag and drop photos and save your brand’s fonts. Since Flodesk uses a single-column design with all of their layouts, your emails always look great on both desktop and mobile devices.

A note about this: it is important to make sure that you use the layout sparingly because they render as images in your emails. A good email is going to be mostly text-based and not have too many images. So I like to use just one or two layouts if I have more text in my emails.

Feature two: simplified segmentation

Most email platforms have tags and segments, and the difference between the two can get confusing. Flodesk simplified and streamlined subscriber organization by combining tags and segments together.

For example, if you create a freebie that you want to send to a select group of subscribers, you simply create a new segment for just those audience members. Then, you can build out workflows with emails that go to whatever segment you want.

Feature three: link in bio

This is a relatively new feature, so if you haven’t taken advantage of it yet, I recommend giving it a try. It replaces the need for another platform like Linktree. You can put multiple links on one page and then put that link in your social media bios. It has an opt-in form right there on the page, which makes it super easy to capture emails from your social media platforms.

This feature has a high conversion rate because it’s so much easier for your audience to fill in their email at this step than it is to go to your website and wait for a popup.

Feature four: folders

Flodesk makes email organization easy by offering folders that you can organize your emails into. For example, if you’re working on a sales sequence for a launch, you can put all of those emails into one folder and easily find them again for your next launch. You can also add emails to your favorites and then easily use them in your workflows.

Feature five: up and down arrows

This is a brand new feature that Flodesk just launched, and even though it’s super basic, it has really changed how I write emails. They now have up and down arrows in their emails that allow you to easily move around the sections of your emails.

Bonus features

  • Checkouts that allow you to sell products on photos
  • Sales pages
  • Delivery pages
