Elegant Charleston Wedding at Merchants Hall

Seth and Lydia’s Downtown Charleston Wedding at Merchants Hall was an absolute DREAM! This was my first time shooting in downtown Charleston and it could not have been more perfect! All week long the weather was cold and rainy, but on Saturday it was 60 degrees and sunny! It was absolutely perfect wedding weather.

I just love Seth & Lydia! I’ve known Lydia for a long time because two of her bridesmaids are some of my very best friends! Even though our paths didn’t cross very often, I have been blessed by her incredible testimony for the Lord! It has been so sweet to see her follow Christ all the way to Kenya to serve at an orphanage, then to intern at a domestic violence shelter, and then to meet Seth and pursue marriage with him. Lydia is such a special person! And she is SO SO sweet. She is passionate about the Lord and helping others. Her dress is actually a part of her story as well. Lydia got her dress from Church Street Bridal in Lynchburg VA. It is a part of the YWCA. Proceeds from all of the gowns go to helping women and children who are victims of domestic violence.

When I met Seth at their engagement session, I could tell right away that these two were perfect for each other. He loves her deeply, he’s a true servant leader, and he’s absolutely one of the nicest people I’ve ever met! I just know Seth & Lydia are going to have an amazing marriage not because they are so awesome, which they are, but because they truly have put Christ at the center of their relationship!

Seth & Lydia met at their church in Charleston and they love the outdoors! They like to hike, kayak, ride bikes, and go to the beach. They also like exercising together! Health & fitness is something that is super important to them! Seth first asked her out at Sullivan’s Island at the beach one Sunday after church, so he decided to propose to her there as well!

Their wedding was so sweet! First of all, Merchants Hall is STUNNING. Lydia was beaming with excitement all day long, and Seth is just too kind to put into words. I had such a blast hanging out with them for their portraits. We were able to take them to The Battery, to White Point Garden, and some side streets nearby! It was busy with traffic but we made it! A huge shoutout to my second shooter Sarah for all of the driving around! I am in love with Lydia’s gold details and how they go so nicely with the neutral invites, the greenery, and florals. Everything was so elegant, classic, and quintessentially Charleston! Enjoy their Downtown Charleston Wedding at Merchants Hall!

Seth & Lydia, congratulations! I am so happy for you! Thanks for letting me share in your day!

A huge thank you to my second shooter, Sarah Marko.
