Wow, I am so excited to share this blog post with you today. I’m not even sure where to start, so I’ll just start from the beginning.
Lucy is one of my oldest friends! We met when we were 9 at our neighborhood pool and soon found out we lived right down the street from each other! The two of us hung out ALL the time, especially during the summer. We would “meet half way.” which meant we would call each other, leave our houses at the same time, and meet up in the middle of the big hill that separates our houses.
We have so many memories together! Sleepovers, pool days, making silly movies, and in recent years, lots and lots of coffee dates and talks. Like most childhood friends, we grew apart in high school and college, but after college when she was still living with her parents and I was living with mine, we reconnected and started meeting for coffee regularly, sometimes once a week! Over the last few years we’ve grown closer as friends and shared so many laughs, cries, and memories together. I’m so glad that we became best friends as adults, too! I can honestly say that Lucy is one of my dearest friends!
Wow, I’ve written two paragraphs and I haven’t even started talking about the wedding!!
Pretty Place Chapel Ceremony
What a wedding it was. I think it will definitely go down as one of my all-time favorites. The radiant joy on Lucy’s face all day long was infectious. I can honestly say I’ve never seen her as happy as I saw her on her wedding day.
This day was definitely NOT short of tears! Happy tears, of course! Lucy was crying, her mom was crying, and later even Marcus was crying. Without a doubt, their ceremony was one of the sweetest I’d ever seen. Tears welled up as they whispered their vows to each other, and I felt so privileged to be able to witness such a beautiful moment.
They chose to get married at Pretty Place Chapel. The views are unmatched!!! It’s one of those places you walk in and you immediately are at a loss for words. And it’s somewhere that you never tire of visiting. I’m so happy they chose Pretty Place as their wedding location, because they can enjoy the view for years to come and remember this special day!
Green Valley Reception
Green Valley Country Club was where we did all of the getting ready shots and where they had their reception!!! Lucy is British, so one of the things she initially wanted was an afternoon tea for her reception. When that didn’t work out, they decided instead to decorate the tables with vintage teacups and teapots. It was one of the most tasteful and elegant reception halls I’ve ever seen! Some friends of Lucy’s mom from an English organization in Greenville she’s a part of (Daughters of the British Empire) gifted the floral arrangements to Lucy and Marcus, and they were stunning!!!
I am SO happy for my sweet friend and her husband. Lucy and Marcus, thanks for allowing me to share in your special day! Congratulations!!!

Checking out the view before he welcomes his bride down the aisle
I wonder what he’s thinking right here… haha!
Marcus was in tears, and so was everyone else too at this point! How sweet!
There is a British tradition of decorating wooden spoons for those you love that get married! Lucy’s bridesmaids and mom surprised her with them! They are called “Love Spoons,” and they are meant to bring good luck!
Lucy’s family helped throw rose petals for this shot! I love it!
Special thanks to Kyle for throwing the veil without falling off the cliff 🙂
Reception at Green Valley Country Club
I am absolutely obsessed with their reception decorations!
Lucy’s brother, Joe, is a musician, and he sang and played their first dance song for them! It was “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran. What a special moment to have at their wedding!
Lucy’s dad gave THE BEST father of the bride speech I have heard at ANY wedding! Great job, Mr. Sharp!
I’ve never seen a bigger smile on Lucy’s dad’s face than when he was dancing with his little girl!!! They danced to “Isn’t She Lovely” by Stevie Wonder.
The Craz-e Crane doing his thing!
I’m so happy for my dear friend!!! I love you, Lucy! Congrats, Lucy and Marcus!!!
