I’ve known Lucy since I was 9 years old. She lived down the street from me, and we were saw each other all the time! Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of introducing her to a lot of my friends and family and they always say, “I like Lucy! She’s so sweet!” Or they comment about how they love her smile. Lucy is always smiling, and that’s one of the things I love about her!
Like most people who were childhood friends, we weren’t incredibly close during college. She went off to USC and I stayed in Greenville. Our schedules were busy, we made new friends, and with the routine of college and living in different parts of the state, we didn’t get together often. But after we graduated, we became closer than ever! Now we regularly have coffee dates and talk for hours about everything. She was also able to celebrate with me as part of my “something blue” for my wedding! I’ll have to explain that in a future blog post… this one is about Lucy & Marcus!
When Lucy first met Marcus, she knew he was different. Being close friends, we talked about boys all the time. I remember her telling me, “he treats me how girls are supposed to be treated, and I haven’t experienced that before.” It wasn’t long before they were dating and having the time of their lives!
Lucy is from England, and it was always her dream to get engaged in Wales at her favorite beach. Well, a few months ago, she got her wish. Marcus was traveling with her family to visit her relatives all over England, and he had the perfect proposal planned for her at her favorite beach. She said yes, and I haven’t seen her smile so bright!
Lucy and Marcus are getting married at Pretty Place Chapel next year, so they decided on a mountain location for their engagement shoot. I suggested Max Patch Mountain because the views are stunning and the woods at the trailhead are magical! We set a date, and Marcus requested off of work for it. Well, as luck would have it, we ran into thick fog right as we were making our way up the mountain. That meant the stunning Max Patch views were nonexistent. But the woods were still magical, and I am in love with the mystical feeling it gave our photographs!!
They were such good sports and put up with the cold and wet with smiles on their faces. My lens was getting wet and fogging up constantly, but we still had a blast and made some wonderful memories! Who says you can’t have fun in the fog and rain?! If you’re someone like Lucy, you definitely can! I hope you enjoy their engagement session at Max Patch Mountain!
