This weekend I had the privilege of photographing my sweet friend Kelley and her fiancé, Tyler! We had the most perfect sunrise ever over at Milliken Arboretum in Spartanburg. When Kelley asked about shooting at Milliken, I was thrilled! This was my first time doing a session there! I have heard so many people talk about Milliken, but I’d never been! I was blown away by how beautiful it was, especially at sunrise.
Kelley is a friend from college that I met in choir! One year, our choir went on a tour of some of the southeastern states, and we ended up being roomies! We had such a blast getting to know each other more and singing together. She is truly one of the sweetest and most joyful people you will ever meet! I am so happy that I got to capture these photos with her and Tyler. I’d never met him before, but it is so obvious that he ADORES her! Their love for each other is so obvious, and I can’t wait for their wedding!
At the last minute, I decided to put together a little picnic of sorts for the two of them. Kelley is such a sweet person, so I wanted to make it really special for her. I brought my grandmother’s crystal juice cups, and her coffee cups and beautiful tea plates!! My mom was kind enough to let me borrow the blankets and picnic basket. It turned out even better than I imagined! Kelley was so happy when I brought the tulips, because Tyler is Dutch! I had no idea, but it was a fun surprise!
Kelley lives in Spartanburg, and she and Tyler have taken walks and picnics at Milliken a few times during their relationship! It was so fun to be able to shoot at a location that is sentimental to them.
