Pretty Place Chapel Wedding | Kyle & Kimberly

pretty place chapel wedding

I’m so excited to share Kyle & Kimberly’s wedding with you today! Kyle & Kimberly have known each other since middle school and they are high school sweethearts!! They were friends for a long time before they started dating, and I just think that is so sweet! Now that they’re married, they officially get to be best friends forever.

When I asked Kimberly what she and Kyle like to do together, she had the best response! They spent some time dating long distance while they were in college, so they began to love sharing experiences together. They like going to the zoo, visiting new towns, and they love nature! They are trying to visit every state park in South Carolina, which I think is soo awesome! I love the national and state park services and how they make it so easy to get outdoors.

I shared Kyle & Kimberly’s proposal story in their engagement post, so let’s talk about the wedding! They got married at Pretty Place Chapel in South Carolina, which is one of my all-time favorite places to photograph weddings. You just can’t beat the view!! Kimberly and her bridesmaids got ready at The Inn at Thistlewood Down. It’s a beautiful little bed & breakfast in Dacusville, SC which is where my husband grew up! The day I met him was actually when I was photographing a wedding at Thistlewood Down, so it holds a special place in my heart! Marcia and John always take the best care of their guests!!

Another special thing about Kyle & Kimberly’s wedding for me is that I got to photograph it with my sister-in-law! She is a talented photographer, so to share the day with her was so special! She was on groom duty most of the day. Kyle and his men got ready at Table Rock State Park, which is where he proposed to Kimberly and also where we had their engagement session!

They had the most perfect day. Since it was November, I was fully prepared for the day to be cold, but we actually couldn’t have had more perfect weather!! It was beautiful all day long. We did their first look at Bald Rock and it was sunny and clear with just enough clouds in the sky. Kyle cried when he saw his beautiful bride, and I got a little choked up too! Their love for each other is so evident to anyone watching and it was the sweetest moment!!!

I do want to share one special thing about their ceremony! Kyle & Kimberly chose to wash each other’s feed during the ceremony. I’ve heard of many friends doing this at their wedding, but this was the first time I actually got to witness it myself. I seriously got so emotional during this moment. I love the symbolism of what it means to serve each other selflessly in marriage. Preferring your spouse over yourself is the only way to make a marriage last, and I couldn’t think of a more beautiful way to represent that than the feet washing ceremony.

Their reception was so much fun! It was at Charlyn Farms in Marietta, and it was so beautiful! The leaves were beautifully colored and the sun was at just the right spot in the sky to have some sunset portraits before they were announced into the reception. We ate amazing BBQ from Sticky Fingers and they danced the night away!!! Check out some of the extra funny moments in the photos from the reception. Congratulations Kimberly & Kyle!!!

Enjoy the photos from their special day!
