Navigating Tech and Systems for Your Business

Navigating tech and systems for your business can be daunting. It can be tempting as a business owner to feel like you are alone. Shelly helps creative entrepreneurs overcome the overwhelm and fear of tech so they can grow their businesses.

After working in medical technology for 20 years, she felt stuck in her career until she came across the idea of being a virtual assistant. She worked hard at both jobs until she could eventually go full-time with her business. When it felt like the societal pressure was to just get a degree and stick with it forever, Shelly found freedom in being able to work full time for herself by helping other small business owners.

Helping Clients in Their Tech Systems and Processes

Shelly’s clients are often visionaries who have amazing ideas on how they want to see their businesses grow. Shelly helps clients put their vision into action by a step-by-step approach or she teaches them how to do it themselves.

It can be very overwhelmed and easy to get stuck in a hurdle when looking at how to manage tech systems and processes. It can be difficult to break it down into attainable steps. Shelly helps clients break down those daunting tasks into manageable steps.

Hurdles Small Business Owners Face When Implementing a New Tech System

Shelly shares that one of the biggest hurdles is planning out how to implement the system and having a distinct timeline. Remember that process is a fluid thing that con constantly be tweaked. Mistakes that are made can be incredibly beneficial as you learn what works and what doesn’t work in your business.

It is important to be able to take a step back and see the big picture before breaking it down into smaller tasks.

Workflows, Processes, and Systems

Workflow and Process Example: The flow for onboarding a client might include: filling out a form, emailing, calling them, sending them a contract

System: Batch creating content for social media and using a platform to schedule out the content. Having a system in place is just the implementation of the process.

Pro tip: Once you have a good system in place, create an SOP (Standard Operating System) video of you going through your workflow. Now you will have documentation of exactly what your process and systems look like if you choose to outsource.

A resource that will help you find freedom in your business and accomplish your goals is the short mini-course Crush your Goals with Christi. In this mini-course, you’ll learn how to consistently set goals and see them through.
